FAQ

The Lock for Windows 2000/XP/Vista

Issue 04.08.17 (Version 5.04.0620 or later):
I need to un-install The Lock and I do not remember the master Administrator password.

If you do not remember your Master Administrator password, you should use your Master Administrator unlock key disk (created during installation), or follow this procedure:

1) Log into Windows, then restart the system from the Start Menu.
2) Repeat step 1 until The Lock disables itself and no longer loads.
3) Download the latest version
4) Install the latest version. Once the Configuration Utility starts, select Utility from the main menu, then Advanced, then "Reset Admin ID"
5) Close the Configuration Utility. Do not have The Lock automatically start, do not select to restart the computer if prompted to do so.
6) Uninstall The Lock from either it's Start Menu Uninstall option or from Add/Remove Programs.

Issue 04.01.17 (Version 5.04.0117 or earlier):
I need to un-install The Lock or The Lock 2002 (Not The Lock for Windows 9x/ME) and I do not remember the master Administrator password.

If you do not remember your Master Administrator password, you should use your Master Administrator unlock key disk (created during installation).

If you do not have a key disk, Click the link above (Technical Request Form) and fill out a support request.

Be sure to specify that you need to retrieve the Master Administrator password.

Other CrashCourse programs

Q. I am using some of your right mouse click programs, like Slicer or Cprompt, but I have Microsoft Office Tool bar installed. Now all my buttons on the tool bar start with one of the CrashCourse programs I have installed.

A. Browse to the CrashCourse Web Page and download the latest version of the program you are having trouble with. The new versions are now Microsoft Office Toolbar friendly
